Help Stop the Spread of Invasive Species

As the weather warms up across the country the threat of the spread of invasive species, both on land and in our waterways, becomes more noticeable. Please encourage your customers and friends to learn about these threats in your local area and to prevent their growth. One easy way to make sure a boat isn't a carrier as it moves from one body of water to another is to power wash the hull and prop if you are trailering out of one area and planning to launch into another. Boats are the fastest and most common way that invasive mussels are spread throughout waterways, read more and download the guide to share. If you have noticed any new invasive species in your area please let us know so that we can help get the word out. Happy Reading.

Engine manufacturers from across the American recreational boating industry have identified biobutanol as a suitable and safe alternative biofuel to ethanol, a controversial biofuel due to its damaging effects on numerous types of engines, including those that power recreational boats. For the past five years, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) under the direction and guidance of the U.S. Department of Energy and Argonne National Laboratory, have been engaged in an industry-supported program to evaluate the performance of recreational marine engines operated on fuel containing up to 16 percent biobutanol.
