National Fishing Week and More...

National Fishing Week in Canada this year began on July 4th and runs right through until the 12th. Fishing week is about fishing for certain, but it offers the additional opportunity for Canadians to spend quality time on the water with friends and family just enjoying our waterways. If you are new to fishing our featured video will give you the confidence to get started and if you are a seasoned angler maybe this is a great time to introduce someone close to you to the fishing lifestyle. LEGISLATORS IN THE U.S. LOOKING TO CHARGE TRANSIENT BOATERS NEW FEE

As part of the current North Carolina budget debate, the state General Assembly is currently considering legislation that would impose a significant new user fee on all recreational boats 24 feet and longer that are used in coastal waters. For example, the costs proposed for the new North Carolina "Coastal Waterways User Identification Fee" for a 25-foot boat would be $75, $128 for a 32-foot boat, and $200 for a 40-footer. This fee would also apply to any out-of-state vessel fishing in NC coastal waters. ... Read More

Volvo Group North America achieved its goal of reduced energy consumption in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Better Buildings, Better Plants Challenge five years earlier than anticipated. Volvo Group's goal had been a 25 percent reduction in energy consumption at its eight U.S. manufacturing plants between 2009 and 2020.
