Big Crowds at the Boat Show
On January 20, 2017 two important things happened; the 2017 Toronto International Boat Show opened and also, Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States.
Friday was the special VIP Preview Day and floor was remarkably busy with people in every booth, crowds in the aisles and lineups of people to see the big yachts.
The crowds were even bigger on Saturday, opening day for the public and many exhibitors we spoke to commented that it was the busiest show day in recent memory. It seemed that every booth had visitors, every exhibitor was talking to a customer and every isle was packed.
In the coming week we will hear about actual counts at the door, but the show certainly seemed busy and the crowds were buying. Perhaps it was the mild weather. People could not ride their snowmobiles and few were going skiing, or perhaps it's the anticipation that the Trump presidency will be good for the economy. It's far too early to tell but one thing is certain, the Toronto International Boat Show 2017 was off to a flying start this past weekend.
