SHARE YOUR MARINE INDUSTRY CAREER STORY
Last week in News Week we said we were inviting people to share their marine industry career story, and to make it easier, we said we would put up a simple question and answer guide.
Have a look. It's easy to follow and fairly short. Just give your own answers and send it in to us.
With record-low unemployment levels across North America, every industry these days is looking for potential employees and our concern is that the marine industry is not a well-known, or a common career path. I think we need to show young people some personal information - give them proof that there are good career opportunities in marine.
Not everybody is going to want to do this, but we invite you to share your marine industry career story, particularly if you feel that the business has been a positive experience for you.
The concept is to build an online library of examples of individuals who have made a career for themselves in the marine industry. Schools, marine businesses, tourism organizations, marine trade associations and many other groups will be able to access these stories.
To participate, you don't have to be rich, you don't have to be in a senior position and you don't have to be a business owner to be someone who is enjoying their life and succeeding in the marine industry. What we want most is to gather a library of success stories from all the various areas of our industry.
Let's see who takes the ten or fifteen minutes to tell their story. I hope you will be one of those people.
