Victoria's Millar Wins 2019 Edge Sailing 2.4m Midwinters
At the end of January, sixteen competitors took to the waters of Port Charlotte for the 2019 Edge Sailing Midwinters, event three in the five-event 2.4 Meter Can Am Championship series. The leaderboard for the Edge Sailing Midwinters was dominated by two veteran racers:2015 2.4mR North American Champion Bruce Millar, of Victoria, BC and 2018 2.4mR North American Champion Dee Smith of Annapolis, Maryland.

Fire in the Port Sidney Marina
Sidney Fire Chief Brett Mikkelsen said crews were called to the Port Sidney Marina around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday February 9th, for reports of a boat on fire. "It was quite evident when we were responding from about a kilometre or two away that there was a large, black vertical column of smoke, so it was well, well underway," he said.

When it comes to boat shows, boot (With a lowercase 'b') in Dusseldorf, Germany offers a wide range of boats and equipment that are hard to locate on this side of the Atlantic. As such, it makes a great international destination for Canadian boaters, although it has yet to catch on in large numbers.
