100 sleeps until launch

When the boat shows arrive, my internal alarm clock rings and I suddenly start thinking boat again. The autumn season after haul out is kind of a barren period with no boating and no immediate expectations of any. In Canada, boaters suck up their forlorn disappointment and hide behind festive masks and skiing that their non boating friends and family mistakenly identify as a balanced life. For boaters, there is really no such thing. There is only the boat.

But today, January 26, is just 100 days before launch. Suddenly spring is in the air. For the next month you can meet up with friends at the show, think about sanding the brightwork and contemplate how much fun it will be. Based on last summer, it's going to be spectacular, right? Then, not long from now, we can fold up the tarp and take a look at her. Just hugging your boat makes everything right again.

It may be cold where you are still, but soon the waves will be calling.
