Show time already?
Perhaps it's like when Canadian Tire starts selling Christmas trees in September, but I am starting to get a lot of mail from boat shows. Already! It's early November and the Toronto Show isn't until January 12, Vancouver starts Jan 17 and Halifax on Feb 8 but I have to confess, I'm already getting in the mood.
Why? Because my sixth sense tells me there's going to be some interesting boats this year. That's not entirely ESP - Canadian Yachting's sleuth John Armstrong and other ace reporters have been browsing in Annapolis, Ft Lauderdale etc and the feedback is very encouraging. Boat designers seem to be getting fresh ideas on both sides of the dock.
The other force driving my enthusiasm is, of course, the weather. After a so so summer, we went abruptly from a glorious autumn to a typical grey winter. I'm already thinking spring launch.
