Power or Sail? Or both?
Here at CYOB we see boaters as one common happy family, sharing the waters, exploring the ports and group hugging on the dock. But is that the reality? Sure sail types and power boaters get along but are there truly more things in common than differences?
An interesting way to get some real insight is from those of you who have owned both a powerboat and a sailboat either sequentially or at the same time. Our President, Mr Kerr himself, is an interesting example – he is an Olympic medal-winning sailor and now owns only a powerboat. Tanker Jones the legendary T-Bird sailor also owned a Bertram 33 and today the Whitby Yacht Club’s Rosborough 28 committee boat bears his name.
What about you.. Did you move from Cobalt to a Shark, from a C&C to a Beneteau cruiser? Do you own one of each? Are you switching at this year’s Boat Show? Do powerboaters and sailors happily co-exist? Tell us what you own and what the perspective is from your cockpit. My email is below…shoot me a line in our CYOB Inbox.
