2019 - the year of the Citation and Shark
The two most important launces in the history of Canadian boatbuilding celebrate a milestone anniversary next year. The Doral Citation, built in Grand-Mère, Québec will be 35 next year. The Shark will turn - are you sitting down - 60!!
These 24-footers, one power, one sail are likely the most prolific of Canadian-built boats. Neither is built today. The Citation kicked off the dynamic growth of Doral, which grew into a top Canadian builder with a long list of top selling models. The Shark was a cornerstone of C&C, which also became a world-beater on the sail front.
To honour these beauties CYOB will welcome your submissions. Did you own one of them? Do you now? Got pictures, anecdotes, memories? Or even accounts of how you enjoyed your boat last season and are planning for the next. Our address is CYOnBoard@kerrwil.com, and if you could please put Citation or Shark (is there anyone who owned both?) in the subject line.
