Look at the stats!
All of a sudden, thanks to Bianca Andreescu, tennis is on TV round the clock.Of course, we love her success, but it made me wonder about the relative popularity of tennis and boating. Here's what I discovered:
According to a Tennis Canada November 2018 report, over the past 12 months, nearly 6.6 million Canadians have played tennis at least once, which represents 18% of the population. Of those, 4.5 million Canadians played the sport at least four times throughout the course of the year.
However, according to NMMA Canada an estimated 43% of adults went boating in 2015 - 12.4 million Canadians.
That is double the number of Canadians who play tennis, according to the respective industry organizations.

Lifting, launching and trailering
I've had two emails over the past few weeks with a count-down to launch (47 days per the last email), and instructions on how to prep for launch, including properly marking where slings should be placed. Launch-day is filled with boat owners who aren't sure where best to place the slings, and are left to rely on the best experience of the crane directors and travel-lift operators.

My sailing friend and industry pro, Colin Andrews explained Ondeck Sailing, an Antigua-based charter and individual charter provider who can hook you up for training, offshore sailing or as a pay a-as-you-play crew in any of the many Caribbean winter regattas.
