Lighting in the service of our communities
In this issue we introduce a lighting project that has distinguished itself on the international scene by winning a prestigious darc award. It is important to note that this award has been won by illuminating a community building while respecting rules that preserve the night sky. Lighting is changing and attitudes are changing with it, so in this issue we continue discussing persistent myths about industrial LEDs. To continue with our lighting theme, Codes & Standards contributor Bill Burr writes about the installation of lighting equipment. Good reading, and share your news with us!

12 Myths Surrounding Industrial LED Lighting, Part 2
Unlike high-intensity fluorescents (HIF), high-intensity discharge (HID), high-pressure sodium (HPS) and metal halides, LEDs are semiconductors, not light bulbs. This fundamental difference is the cause of many misconceptions surrounding LEDs. The challenge now is that the outdated evaluation criteria, which were applicable to legacy lighting, are still in use. In this second of two articles, let's continue delving into LED myths and look at the underlying facts.
