Understanding the context in which our economy is thriving
I recently participated in economic forums on the future of our industry and on the current, rather positive, economic context in which we are operating. Industry experts shared with us their vision of the economic future, and despite some uncertainties with our southern neighbour it seems that everyone can hope for a good year end. With that comes the return of the tax season. And yes, there are best practices for this, which we talk about in this issue. It is better to know in which direction you want to go. As a small business owner, it is possible to have a hassle-free tax season. You have to learn from years past, take advantage of the tools and resources available, and finally organize your deductions and expenses accurately and thoroughly. Good preparation and good reading!

How the IIoT is Delivering on the Promise of Asset Performance Management, Part 1
By John Boville
If you had researched the Industrial Internet of Things online in the mid-1990s, there might have been a handful of results. But if you searched on terms like asset performance management, predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance management, you would have found thousands of entries. While such maintenance automation is finally gaining a foothold in industry, realizing its full potential has been hampered by limited access to the contextual data related to things like system wear and performance degradation.
