Around all the discussions and debates
At a recent reception I met an agent who had started his career in GE's lamp division. I had before me a witness to the story. With him, three generations of a family of distributors of electrical products whose founder was discussing new lighting technologies. Another person pointed out the inability to write the history of all recent mergers and acquisitions. Our contributor, David Gordon, talks about it in this issue. Why this anecdote? Because I was struck by the fact that lighting has a whole quiet history until the advent of LED technology and that it generates debates and intergenerational discussions that go beyond the anecdote. Lighting is constantly reinventing itself and still captivates those who have experienced the era of incandescent lamps as much as those who plan its future. Finally, it succeeds in bringing people together around a bright spot to discuss and exchange. Good reading!
