This is going even better than we expected…

As we blast off for 2017, the CYOB crew is delighted with your reaction and contributions. Our goal is to capture the whole Canadian boating scene and reflect it every couple of weeks.

That's a tall order. Boaters most often go about their adventures without fanfare. A lot of what's involved is purposely well off the beaten path. On top of that, this is one huge nation we have here with hundreds of thousands of boaters doing … well, doing a prodigious number of things!

But thanks to our reporters and our readers we are lassoing all sorts of great stories all the way from a great sailor from Victoria to abandoned outposts in Labrador and a whole lot in between. We're receiving stories, photos, letters and calendar dates in growing volume and we are using it all.

CYOB is always on the lookout for news and boating fun from all over the country. We can only do that with your involvement so our New Year's commitment is to reach out to you for your input. Let it rip at
