Discovering Powerboat Secrets

Here at CY Onboard, we have roughly an even split of readers - power and sail. BUT.. and it's a big but, we know a lot more about the sail side. We want to uncover the whole truth about Canadian powerboaters.

Here's what we know about sailors: they most often group in clubs and have activities, they race, cruise, are interested in the big stage side of sailing like America's Cup and Olympics. They are mostly DIYers, and by necessity, are very interested in sailing skills and seamanship.

Here's what we know about powerboaters. They mostly are at marinas or keep their boats at cottages. Some still wear bling but increasingly it's a family thing. They mostly enjoy their boats independently vs. sailors who appear to flock together. Maybe there's a clue in that difference!

There are some powerboat clubs, the occasional poker run and some awesome dock parties with all-star barbecues. What else do powerboaters like? Why did you acquire the boat, how does it round out your life? Do you belong to an organization or club? More products and technology? More places to go? Questions we hope to answer right here in CYOB by covering powerboating like a sexy high-end blanket.

Feedback from power fiends is what we need from you… Check in at
