America's Cup starts tomorrow. Do you care?

For me it was the tradition and stately grandeur of the 12 Meter competition combined with the glorious history that made the America's Cup sparkle. Then, competition went weird pitting mono hulls against multis etc. and lost its love.

America's Cup racing then reinvented itself as an extreme sporting event with death defying foiling catamarans. The TV people got their way; those grinders look like a million bucks flying across the tramp awash in waves.

But how much does it have to do with the way you and I enjoy our boats. Sure, it's exciting to watch but so is snowboarding and so is cliff diving. Some would go back to 12s? Would that help? Will you be onboard when the racing starts tomorrow?
