Managing Editor, Line Goyette Lighting and the new business model

In one of the first interviews appearing in this magazine, the leader of a major Canadian lighting company insisted on the new business model set up by the LED revolution. Only four years has elapsed. He was, of course, right, but having walked through the miles of the McCormick Centre in Chicago where LightFair was held this year, it's not only the business practices that have changed but also the infinity of places where lighting plays a role and the many professions that have resulted from it. Horticultural LEDs Many farmers are switching to commercial greenhouses and vertical farms because they produce better yields, help address natural resource constraints, and offer shelter from unfavourable weather and climate change.
